Power outage for 12 hours.
Answer:
If it has already been unthawed it is best to cook it and eat it that night. Just to be on the safe side, unthawing and then refreezing isn't advised.

I bought some noodles in bulk and was worried about "weevils" Will freezing them work ?
A. Yes, you can freeze noodles to last longer. This also works well for your flour and especially wheat flour to keep fresher.

I have all this fruit and want to make smoothies but need to know if they can be frozen.
A. You can freeze your smoothies however, the texture or consistency of them will change slightly so keep that in mind.
You can also create Popsicles from many smoothie recipes. Just pour your extra smoothie into popsicle molds or plastic cups and freeze.

Can I use frozen, cooked meat to cook a recipe and then refreeze it?
I cooked a frozen turkey for Christmas. Then I froze the leftover turkey. Now I would like to thaw the turkey to make turkey chili for my freezer meal group, and then refreeze it for them to take home. It seems like that turkey has been thawed and frozen too many times. Can I thaw and refreeze it again?
~ Hi,
I've done this with turkey before as well. Turkey freezes well and can be used in many different recipes. It should be fine to freeze one more time in a soup and eaten up for good now.

When making yeast rolls that will go in the freezer. Do you let it rise once and then roll into the tin and freeze, or, do you cook it first and then freeze?
Answer:
When I freeze yeast bread I let it rise once. Then punch it down and seal it in a baggie. You can flash freeze rolls as well.
The day before you are going to bake, take them out of the freezer overnight and place in the fridge. Before cooking place them out on the counter for 30 minutes.
I've done this often and it has worked well. I also freeze bags of bread dough to use in whatever way I need later on, shaping it into rolls, pizza crust, Stromboli, etc.
Can I refreeze it?
~Answer: When freezing poultry it is best to only freeze it once especially if it is uncooked. If it was a frozen turkey and cooked, you can certainly freeze the cooked turkey meat. However I wouldn't recommend freezing an uncooked turkey or chicken that has unthawed.

I'm planning a large party and want to include gyoza (Japanese dumplings) on the list of appetizers. The recipe includes wonton wrappers filled with chopped veggies and tofu and then are either steamed and or pan-fried.
They would require cooking in advance, but aren't good if stored in the fridge. How would I flash fry these so that they can be reheated in the oven in time for the party? Thanks, K
The dough is made with eggs....the ravioli is filled with butternut squash or ricotta cheese with egg in it.
Answer:
Hi, homemade pasta dough is very safe to freeze and freezes well. You can even flash freeze it on a cookie sheet and then place in a ziploc baggie to take out a little at a time as you need it.

Yes! Eggs freeze very well. If I'm having quiche for dinner one night I like to freeze an extra one for another night. I either cook one and then allow it to cool and freeze or I freeze it as is. To prevent it from spilling over, if it isn't cooked, I put the quiche on a cookie sheet, place in the freezer for 30 minutes-1 hour, then I wrap it up in tin foil or in a Ziploc bag.
When ready to cook take from the freezer to the oven. You don't have to unthaw it overnight.
Our power was out for several days due to storms. My peaches defrosted but were still cold so I took them to my daughters. Can I use them to make peach pies and then freeze the pies? Do you have any suggestion so that I won't loose them?
Yes, You can use your peaches to make pies and refreeze them. Fresh pies freeze well.
Other ideas could be pureeing the peaches and freezing them in small containers, ice cube trays or freezer bags. You can add the pureed peaches in fruit smoothies, sauces or desserts.

Can you freeze fresh sliced apples?
A. You can cut your apples in slices and then place in a bowl of cold water with a little lemon juice added to the water. This will keep them from getting brown.
Place in a ziploc bag or flash freeze and then place in a baggie. If you flash freeze first you will be able to take out as many apple slices as needed.

Have many peeled & sliced apples in freezer. Want to thaw-make apple pies & put pies back in freezer.
You can definitely use your sliced apples in making apple pies or other desserts. You just need to add sugar to your apples see the recipes below. Pies also freeze well as well as quiche.
These pages may help in making pies:

Or is it better to cook it first and then freeze it. Thanks
I would like to use the apples now while they are in season.
Answer: I personally have done both cooked it, allowed it to cool and froze it. However, I've also prepped the pie and frozen it as is without cooking. Either method works well and perhaps the decision should be made on what you have time for. Cooking ahead of time and freezing means a quicker cooking time in the end. Whereas the uncooked pie may take up to an hour to cook through.
You can also freeze fresh sliced apples, puree apples and save in the freezer for future smoothies, desserts, applesauce, etc. See these freezer cooking ideas for more help.

I cooked a pot of hamburger soup it was just about cooled when it was turned on to a boil. Is it still safe to freeze and use later?
A. Yes, you can still freeze it after it has been cooked again. Always bring it to cool before freezing.
