How to Make Mashed Potatoes

Learning how to make mashed potatoes is a very simple process. The most work is peeling your potatoes and waiting for them to boil. Depending on how many people you are serving will depend on how many potatoes you should cook for this recipe. I usually cook one medium potato per person.

Making Mashed Potatoes

  1. Peel your potatoes and cut into squares.

  2. Add water to a large pot and place cut potatoes in pot.

  3. Bring to a boil and cook until potatoes are tender. Check doneness by inserting fork into potato.

  4. Drain water. You can save this potato water in a bowl for making your mashed potatoes instead of using milk if desired.

  5. In bowl, mash potatoes with a fork or potato masher.

Now that you know how to make mashed potatoes try a new recipe.

Spread a large amount of mashed potatoes over a baking tray. Layer tuna, onion, tomato with cheese on top. I add some spices in the mashed potato, also you can change the tuna for cooked sausages if you like it better.

Bake in the oven until the cheese is lightly brown. I store in square pieces in a plastic container. Its cheap and easy. Its also good as a side dish n trust me the kids will love it : )
