Overnight Baked French
Toast
Overnight
baked French toast is great for a 'dinner for breakfast night.' It can
be
prepared in the morning and left in the fridge until dinnertime. Or for
the breakfast meal, simply prepare the night before and place in the
oven when
you wake up.
Overnight Baked French Toast
6 eggs

1 1/2 Cups milk
1
teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 can peaches,
drained
1 loaf french bread or thick slices of bread
In
a mixing bowl blend together eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Spray a
casserole dish with cooking spray and place slices of bread in a single
layer of casserole dish.
Place peaches on top of bread. Pour egg
mixture over the top. Wrap in tin foil and store in the fridge until
ready to bake. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden
brown.


If
you'd like a sweet topping to this baked french toast recipe, try
adding this topping right before baking,
1/2 cup butter,
chilled
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1
teaspoon cinnamon
Mix together until crumbly. Sprinkle on top
of french toast, then bake.

Crispy Baked Toast
2 eggs
1/2 Cup milk
1/4 Cup orange juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp nutmeg
12 sliced of French bread
1- 1/2 Cup cornflakes or other cereal, crushed
On a cookie sheet melt 2-3 Tablespoons butter while the oven is warming
up.
Meanwhile, in a flat dish mix together eggs, milk, orange juice,
vanilla and nutmeg. Soak bread several minutes.
Lay on cookie sheet and sprinkle with crushed cereal.
Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Baked French Toast
8 slices white bread, crust removed and cubed
1/2 lb. cream cheese, cubed
1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and chopped
6 large eggs
1 Cups of whole milk
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Set the oven temperature to 375 and allow the oven to preheat.
Layer half of the bread cubes into a deep 8X8 casserole dish.
Spread the cheese cubes evenly over the bread.
Scatter the apple over the cheese.
Layer the remaining bread cubes over the top being sure they go to the
edges of the dish.
Break the eggs into a mixing bowl.
Pour in the milk and sprinkle in the cinnamon.
Whisk until well blended.
Pour the egg mixture over the top of the casserole.
Bake, uncovered, for 35 minutes or until the eggs are set.
